NEW YORK CITY

Last week the kids and I had an amazing time in New York City!!! We only went for a few days, but they were a BLAST! Thanks to my in-laws for such an awesome experience! Taija was so funny...our hotel was right in Times Square and several times a day she would ask Pa to take her to New York (she thought New York was only down below on the streets)! The hotel was perfect, the food delicious, the shows were wonderful, and the sights were breath-taking!! One day we hired a driver to take us to lower Manhattan so we could see the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, the United Nations building, Wall Street, and so many other wonderful things. We even took the Staten Island Ferry so we could see the Statue of Liberty. All in all such a wonderful experience!
We were able to go see Central Park and take a carriage ride...so beautiful and peaceful. Interesting bit of trivia...the only natural landscaping in the park are the BIG rocks.

Luke and Grammy were good buddies on the trip!

Just outside our hotel...this was the first night we were there. By the weekend the streets were PACKED! It was crazy!

On the Staten Island Ferry...poor kiddos didn't have much of a cool weather wardrobe! At least it wasn't too cold - mid 50s!

I was quite spoiled in that we saw some pretty amazing shows. We saw Wicked, Lion King, Mary Poppins and The Addams Family. Not to mention for all but one of the shows we were 7th row in the middle section on the isle. The last one we were on the 2nd row to the left (not too shabby)!!! I am definitely planning on going to New York again, just maybe not for a few more years...

LAST Utah post

Since this is really the only record keeping I am doing for my family I need to add one last post from our Utah vacation!
On Saturday night we were able to catch up with our good friends the Call family...we love them and wish we lived closer! While we were there I was asking Katie how she cuts Johnny's hair and not only did she tell me...she cut Luke's hair! It was AWESOME!

We also spent some time up north with Pa, Grammy, Emily and Ryan. One evening we were able to go to the Davis County Fair that was just a block away from Taija's cousins' house!

More FUN in Utah

Taija had a blast spending time with her cousin Ari who she doesn't see too often since she lives in Bahrain.

Utah trips are not complete without a camping trip!

Utah's HOGLE ZOO

SO I am FINALLY updating my blog with the last part of our UT trip...

Honestly after the Miami MetroZoo I am afraid it was a bit lame (especially since the only thing the Hogle Zoo has that the Miami one lacks is bears, but the exhibit is currently under construction). Taija was also SERIOUSLY disappointed with the giraffes!

But Taija and Luke both LOVED the carousal and the train

Taija's good buddy Alex (cute story...while we were walking out to the car I told Taija to give Alex a hug&kiss goodbye, so she hugs him and Alex turns to leave, but Taija grabs his face and plants one right on his lips! That's my girl!)
