Double Coed Baby Shower

I was a little nervous as we planned a Double Coed baby shower for our Volleyball Family, but it turned out to be a ton of fun! It was more of a BBQ with some games and presents. The shower was for Liz (she is having a boy and is due a week before me) and me. It was a blast! We played a few games...including bobbing for nipples and chugging from a baby bottle. Being new at this whole Baby Shower games we didn't realize how much 5 ounces in a bottle was until we made a bunch of people try and chug it! So 5 ounces was way TOO much! It took forever, but it was fun watching them all try. Liz and I decided it would be more fun if Justin and Wes opened up all of the presents and we took notes. Our friends and family were all very generous - a special thanks to the Englerts for hosting!

Chunky Baby

On Monday Justin and I went in for another ultrasound! It was so much fun to see Taija (and the doctor confirmed that she is definitely a girl) and to see her active little feet and hands! The doctor was funny because we told him the reason for the extra ultrasound was because Dr. Morgan wanted to see how big Taija actually was because I was measuring a little on the big side. So after taking her measurements he informed us that our little girl is a "chunky little one." She measures in the 70-80 percentile for babies who are due on October 6th. Good news for the gene pool, but bad news for me! On Monday Taija weighed 3lbs 2ounces...I don't know much about babies and weights, but I have been informed that this is indeed chunky! I will post the pics from the ultrasound soon!

4th of July

This 4th of July was a ton of fun! On Friday Toshi ran the Murray City Reverse Coed Outdoor Doubles Tournament - which was a blast! We ended up with 14 teams! Not bad considering it took a million phone calls to find enough girls to play. Justin even played and took first in the B Division! After the tournament we went to a BBQ with our friends Danny, Katie and Claire in Orem. Claire is getting so BIG! Katie is also expecting - Sophie is due 3 days before Taija.

On Saturday Justin and I spent a nice relaxing day together - no work, no plans, nothing! It was terrific! We went and visited with the refs who are all down here for Boys Junior Nationals. Then we spent the evening with Dad, Josh, Byron and Marley at the Bees game. The fireworks after were AWESOME!

It is truly a blessing to live in a country where we enjoy so many freedoms! A shout out to all of the men and women in the armed forces who make those freedoms a reality!
