Hot Winter Nights Volleyball

So...Justin, Taija and I joined my mom, dad, josh and Christina last night at the Hot Winter Nights AVP volleyball event. It was so much fun! It was at the E Center and we were actually in a suite which was so nice because then nobody cared if taija cried and she could lay out on her blanket and we could just move around! Fabulous - thanks mom! Well, like a dummy I totally forgot my camera so sorry no pics. The volleyball was awesome Jake Gibb - from Bountiful was there and so was one of the guys who won a gold medal in Beijing - Rosenthaul. Of course the girls were there in their bikinis and the guys all had their shirts off. All in all it was a wonderful Valentines Day evening!

Florida...here we come!

So it's official we will be going to Fort Lauderdale, FL for med school come Fall. Well, actually orientation is on July 27th - a little sooner than we thought. We will be flying out shortly after Kate and Scott's wedding which is on the 23rd. We are all excited, although I am a little scared to be moving so far away from family and friends. Wish us luck!

So...for Christmas Uncle Josh gave Taija the cutest little outfit - a Gators onesie with matching booties, pacifier and bib! Like any other Gator fan we were watching the big game on Thursday night! What a game?!

Taija's Bath Time

The other night Justin and I were giving Taija a bath - when we brought her into her room in her little hooded towel I just couldn't resist taking her picture. Taija was so cute smiling and stretching out. I put a diaper on her before taking the pictures - I didn't want to embarass her!

2 Months!

So Taija made it to two months! Hooray! Taija had her two month check-up on Dec. 2nd...she had to get 4 shots! Not too much fun for her, but she did really well. Luckily I had to go to work right after so Justin had her most of the day, but she pretty much slept becuase of the tylonel. It was so much fun to see how big she has gotten - or rather how little she is. She is 24 inches long which puts her in the 95%, but sadly she is barely 10lbs. which puts her in the 27%. She is definetely her daddy's little skinny girl!

Taija's BFF Sophie

Yesterday Justin, Taija and I all went to the blessing of our good friend's daughter Sophie. Sophie Ann Call was born only 3 days before Taija and her mom and I have decided for them that they are going to be BFF's. After the blessing we took some pics of the two of them together. They are so cute!

Taija's a BIG girl

So the other day Justin thought it would be fun to sit Taija up on the couch - well she looked so cute we just had to take a bunch of pictures. From the couch she was moved into Justin's BIG chair - she looks so little sitting in it.

Family Pics

So...Justin, Taija and I went and had our pics taken for our Christmas cards. She was extremely fussy that morning and I was worried that none of the pics would turn out, but thankfully our photographer Mike was AWESOME! Here are the pics - enjoy!

Taija's Blessing Day

Well, Taija is officially one month old! And on her one month mark Taija was blessed by her daddy! It was such an amazing experience. Sadly the microphone did not work and so most of us weren't able to hear it, but luckily the chapel was very quiet and so mommy was able to hear a little bit of it. Taija's Auntie Janet made her beautiful dress and her Great Grandma MorMor made here the cutest little booties. Funny though because she actually recieved two pair because the first ones weren't big enough for her long toes!

Afterwards everyone came over for dinner and to celebrate. It was so much fun - a little bit of a tight squeeze in our home, but we made it work! Thanks to everyone who helped out and were there to celebrate with us!

Med School Update

I thought I would just let all of you know what is going on with med schools - Justin just recently interviewed at NOVA Southeastern which is a D.O. school in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He really liked it there. Hopefully we will hear within the next week if he gets accepted - keep your fingers crossed! Justin has also been offered interviews at A.T. Still which is in Kirksville, MO and Lake Erie College which is in Braedenton, FL. Nothing back from the M.D. schools yet, but we figure we will here from them in the next month or so...

One Week Old!

Taija is now a week old! Hooray we have survived week one! Taija continues to be a wonderful little girl - sleeping 4 hours straight! She is a natural at eating which is a huge relief for her mom. She is now putting back on some of the weight that she has lost, but sadly her little thunder thighs have gone away. Not to worry though her chubby cheeks still remain!

Double Coed Baby Shower

I was a little nervous as we planned a Double Coed baby shower for our Volleyball Family, but it turned out to be a ton of fun! It was more of a BBQ with some games and presents. The shower was for Liz (she is having a boy and is due a week before me) and me. It was a blast! We played a few games...including bobbing for nipples and chugging from a baby bottle. Being new at this whole Baby Shower games we didn't realize how much 5 ounces in a bottle was until we made a bunch of people try and chug it! So 5 ounces was way TOO much! It took forever, but it was fun watching them all try. Liz and I decided it would be more fun if Justin and Wes opened up all of the presents and we took notes. Our friends and family were all very generous - a special thanks to the Englerts for hosting!

Chunky Baby

On Monday Justin and I went in for another ultrasound! It was so much fun to see Taija (and the doctor confirmed that she is definitely a girl) and to see her active little feet and hands! The doctor was funny because we told him the reason for the extra ultrasound was because Dr. Morgan wanted to see how big Taija actually was because I was measuring a little on the big side. So after taking her measurements he informed us that our little girl is a "chunky little one." She measures in the 70-80 percentile for babies who are due on October 6th. Good news for the gene pool, but bad news for me! On Monday Taija weighed 3lbs 2ounces...I don't know much about babies and weights, but I have been informed that this is indeed chunky! I will post the pics from the ultrasound soon!

4th of July

This 4th of July was a ton of fun! On Friday Toshi ran the Murray City Reverse Coed Outdoor Doubles Tournament - which was a blast! We ended up with 14 teams! Not bad considering it took a million phone calls to find enough girls to play. Justin even played and took first in the B Division! After the tournament we went to a BBQ with our friends Danny, Katie and Claire in Orem. Claire is getting so BIG! Katie is also expecting - Sophie is due 3 days before Taija.

On Saturday Justin and I spent a nice relaxing day together - no work, no plans, nothing! It was terrific! We went and visited with the refs who are all down here for Boys Junior Nationals. Then we spent the evening with Dad, Josh, Byron and Marley at the Bees game. The fireworks after were AWESOME!

It is truly a blessing to live in a country where we enjoy so many freedoms! A shout out to all of the men and women in the armed forces who make those freedoms a reality!
