Today is Justin's Dad's birthday! We can't be at his BIG party so here is Taija singing Happy Birthday to him (well...it's actually me singing and Taija making a few comments)!

So...at the end of January my Grandma Y passed away - thus the short trip to Utah.  While we were there Taija and I got to spend some wonderful time with my Mom's entire family!  It was great - a few of my cousins don't live closeby anymore and so it was great to see everybody.  One of the evenings we went to my Auntie Mitzie's house for dinner.  Here are some pics!

WORST Flight EVER

I just thought I would share with you all (more so vent) about my wonderful flight to Utah this past Thurday!  On our flight from Fort Lauderdale to Pheonix (4 1/2 hours) Taija wasn't having the best of days...she was being whiney and didn't want to take a nap.  We had the entire row to ourselves which was nice so I thought I would try and get her to nap.  Yeah not such a great idea.  Well after about 5 minutes of trying I gave up and was now switching to getting her a bottle.  This lady from a few rows behind us came up and asked if I needed any help...after I told her no we were doing okay she preceded to tell me how the entire plane would appreciate it if I would keep my child quiet and pointed out a few things I could do - such as hold her because she was cold.  Okay stupid lady I was in the middle of making a bottle!!!  Not only that Taija was super HOT after I wrapped her up in her blanket trying to get her to sleep!  Such a helpful lady...needless to say I cried for the next hour as Taija just sat there (quietly) watching me.  I LOVE when people try to be helpful as if I just LOVE hearing my child cry in the airplane.  Not to mention this was only 2 hours into our flight!  Really now WHO does that?!

So, for my birthday my BFF from junior high flew out to see me with her 23 month old son, Alex!!!  Jenny and Alex were out here for 9 days and we had so much FUN!  It is so nice to be able to have an adult to talk to all day!  Thanks Jenny!  We were able to go to the Children's Museum in Miami, we went to the Miami Metrozoo and it FINALLY warmed up enough to go to the BEACH!  Here are some pics of thier visit!

UTAH Vacation

So these past few weeks we have been on vacation in UTAH!  It was so much fun to spend time with family and be absolutely SPOILED!  We went shopping, hung out with family, celebrated Christmas - twice, saw many friends, went snow mobiling, celebrated New Years...and all around had a BLAST!  Although it is nice to be home again we will miss all of our FAMILY!  Here are some pics of our crazy trip!

O Little Town of Bethlehem

The other night Taija and I joined the youth in our ward in attendance to "Live Bethlehem."  The 1st Church of Coral Springs puts on their interpretation of what the town of Bethlehem would have been like at the time of Christ's birth.  They have the Roman soldiers there and treat all of the people that come through as peasants that have come to be a part of the census.  Here are the 3 wisemen that are located a little ways outside of the 'city.'

So the other day I put up some of our Christmas decorations...Taija thought I put this snowman up just for her! She loves to pick him up and twirl him around, give him hugs, and of course drag him everwhere! 

Thanksgiving

This was our first Thanksgiving in Florida and away from family!  For as long as I can remember my family has always spent the turkey holiday at my Auntie Janet's house...I have NEVER cooked a turkey!  So, this year Justin and I decided we wanted to spend Thanksgiving at our house with friends!  I cooked a turkey, made mashed potatoes and gravy, put together stuffing and made 3 pies!  It was a blast!  Our friend's the Lewis' brought the green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls and a jello salad!  Such a delicious meal!  Enjoy the pics!

Taija's Visitors

This past week we had visitors!  Tina and Kate came to see us!  They flew in on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday!  It was a whirlwind weekend with lots of shopping and a trip to the beach!

We had so much fun while they were here, but they had to go back to work...we will miss them! At least it's only 5 more weeks til we go home to them!  See you soon!

What's in a name?

So...I have loved hearing how some of my friends came up with the names for their little ones, so I thought I would share how Taija got her name!  Since I was little I have always liked the name Anastasia and dreamed of the day when I had a little girl of my own to name her that.  But when I married Justin he vetoed the name!  Claiming that it's a Russian name that American's pronounce wrong (he served his mission in Russia).  I begged and begged, but he was pretty firm on hating the pronounciation.  So...we compromised and just took the last part of the name...hence Taija (we figured out a spelling that hopefully if one sounds it out they will say it right)!  Taija's middle name is Ane...yes spelled A N E,  but pronounced Ann.  My middle name is the same my mom liked it spelt that way because it is different - you will have to ask her for further clarification!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Justin, Taija and I all went to a costume party!  It was so much fun and people were so creative!  We went as Dr. Robison, Nurse Robison and Dr. in Training!

Trunk or Treat and the Afterparty!

Last night we went to our ward's Trunk or Treat Party...it was lots of fun!  They had chili and corn bread, plus games for kids (most were for older kids).  It was not the most organized event so by the time they got to the Trunk or Treat part Taija was ready to go home!  Here are some pics - enjoy!
