Luke William Robison made his grand entrance to this world on October 28th at 11:21am! 8 lbs. 7 oz and 20 inches long! The delivery was smooth with a bit of drama...one of the med students shadowing Dr. Alexis fainted as Dr. Johnson began cutting. It was pretty funny due to the fact that it took 3 nurses and Justin to get her on the ground so that she wouldn't fall forward into the surgery area. The doctors and staff were talking/laughing about it the rest of the surgery! I guess she is a 3rd year and had barely made it through her first vaginal birth a few days before, but couldn't make it through a c-section. At least it makes for an interesting birth story for Luke. Justin was once again all too pleased that he was able to see over the curtain and witness the procedure. Shortly after Luke came out the pediatric nurse practitioner decided that Luke needed to go to the NICU because she didn't really like the way he was breathing. Justin says she was kind of torn as whether or not she wanted to admit him, but in the end for precautionary reasons she decided to. A total bummer because this meant I would not get to hold him til this morning! Taija and Auntie Janet came to the hospital a little later, but since Taija is in diapers she can't go in to the NICU so she will have to wait a few more days to meet her baby brother.
This morning I was able to go upstairs to the NICU and hold my little guy! It was so much fun to cuddle him and spend some time with Luke. Since he was under an oxygen bubble yesterday Justin wasn't able to hold him til today too. So enjoy our little guy...

These are the beautiful flowers my husband picked out from my Father-N-Law (he ALWAYS gives his grandkids/daughters-N-laws flowers for their birth)!

What a story! I can't believe you guys didn't get to hold him for almost a whole day! I would have been freaking out...I'm so glad he's healthy and you are too! Can't wait to meet him!
Welcome Baby Luke! He's so adorable! Glad he's doing well, despite being whisked away to the NICU. It was like that for Jocey, too. Just be glad Broward General has a NICU--they transferred Jocey to another hospital, so it took a whole day til I could go see her and I'm not sure exactly what day I got to hold her...maybe day 3 or 4. Love the med student story--my dad let me sit in on a c-sec when I was maybe 20 and I started to get woozy, too. I felt so bad, cuz the nurse had to help me out rather then focus on helping out with the operation. Watching my own c-sec from the mirror was pretty cool, though! When do you both get to go home?
He's so precious! Congratulations guys! You're in our prayers.
Congrats, He is adorable!
I am so glad that both of you are doing so well. I wish I could just squeeze him. He will probably be 1 before I get to do that. Love you all. Keep the pictures coming.
