Pa, Grammy and the Poconos

We were very fortunate that Pa and Grammy were able to come and visit at the end of June.  Justin had a week vacation so it was perfect timing!  First up on the agenda was How to Train Your Dragon 2!  Luke and Taija had been anticipating this moment for some time.  The movie had come out the week before so they had been patiently waiting for Pa to come!  There were no pics of that event, but suffice it to say it was AWESOME!  They were so excited to tell Grammy and me ALL about it.  Justin had one more night shift to work on Saturday night, but we decided we would get the LONG drive to our cabin retreat started!  Justin's Aunt Lori was kind enough to let us vacation at her Poconos cabin.  It was PERFECT!  The kids were happy to be in the 'mountains' again.  And for the East coast they were decent mountains...The resort we stayed at had a nice little lake equipped with canoes, a couple of row boats, and a beach.  It also had a little playground for the kids.

 These next few pics are from Grammy - I actually ran away for a few days to officiate at the USA Girls Junior National Championships in Minneapolis.  It was comforting to know that Grammy was taking good care of the kids (big and little)!

One morning while I was still there we drove down to Stanton, PA to go on a tour of the Lackawanna Coal Mine.  It was really interesting to see the inside of a coal mine and the working conditions one would encounter.  The kids did really well considering it was a lot of walking and it was pretty DARK.
